She was born in Silver City, Mississippi to Wash and Ora Lee Scrivens on January 9, 1940. She lived in Stockton for the last 50 years where she was a full-time homemaker, wife and mother. Sis. Minnie Lee was a devoted missionary. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James Charles Thurman; five children, Syrail Scrivens, James King, Barbara King, Maureen Smith and Matthew Thurman all of Stockton; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at Jesse E. Cooley, Jr. Memorial Chapel, 640 N. California St., Stockton, CA from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Thessalonians Missionary Baptist Church, 1940 Drake Avenue, Stockton, California.
