He was a resident of Stockton since 1946 and was born in Oklahoma City, OK, January 29, 1925. He attended schools in Oklahoma and graduated from Allen Military Academy, Bryan, TX. He served in WWII in the 104th Infantry Division as a sniper in Belgium, Holland and Northern France. He received a Purple Heart and the European, African and Middle Eastern Service Medals. He was a former Sears-Roebuck Installation Manger, Dance Instructor with Arthur Murray, Public Accountant, U.S. Postal Service Mail Handler and former self- employed Real Estate Broker-Appraiser. He was an honorary 60-year Life Member and P.E.R. Stockton Lodge of Elks #218, an avid fisherman, hunter and 35-year collector of books written by Frederick Schiller Faust, also known as Max Brand, who wrote under 19 different pen names. In 1987 he donated his collection to the University of Wyoming. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Delia Stever of Stockton; sons, Gary Stever and wife, Teri and Gerry Stever of Stockton. Grandfather of Carrie Ann, Casey, Charles (Charlie), Erin, Geremy, Brandon (Hawk), Lindsey Pfalmer and 2 great-grandchildren. Also survived by cousins, George Sawyer of Sacramento, Jannette Lundy and JoAnn Allen of Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Wendy Johnston and husband, Richard of San Diego and Kristine Castro-Austin and husband, Johnny of Salinas and stepgrandchildren, Jacob, Sean, Michaela and Dominque. Chuck is preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannie Pfalmer of Colorado Springs. A Chapel Service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2005 at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 11 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 12 from 9:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. at the DeYoung Memorial Chapel.
