She was 78. She was born Judith Elizabeth Andrews in Kingsburg CA, February 14, 1926 to Dr. Julius Victor Andrews and Mrs. Betty Andrews. Judy graduated from Kingsburg High School, Class of '44. She recently attended her 60th class reunion there. She attended college at University (then College) of Pacific in Stockton where she earned her Teaching Credential and later her Masters Degree in Child Psychology. She spent her career working for Stockton Unified School District with positions as Teacher (Home-Ec, Science and English), Counselor and Guidance Chair at the campus' of Stockton Jr. High, Fremont Jr. High and at Franklin High. After retirement in 1985, she moved to Morro Bay, CA to be near her mother. She loved Dixieland jazz music, gardening and quilting, and making new friends. She will be missed by her sons David K. Johnson of Santa Barbara, CA and Alan Peightal of Avery, CA, her daughter Carolyn Drosd of Aloha, OR and her dear longtime companion, Bill Weintraub of Los Osos, CA. She profoundly touched the step-children in her life; Don "Pete" Johnson, Sally Parker and Hiram P. Jewart Jr. of Stockton, CA and JoAnn Atkinson of Modesto, CA. She is also survived by her loving sister, Elaine James and her husband Ted James of Morro Bay and nephews Steven James of Las Cruces, NM and Ted James Jr. of San Luis Obispo, CA, three grandchildren, Rene Widger, Michael Drosd, Nolan D. Johnson and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Joseph and Allison Widger. A Memorial Service for Judy will be held on January 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Los Osos, California.
