John R. Thorndyke, Sr. 

July 1, 1924 - Jan. 8, 2055



John R. Thorndyke, Sr., age 80 of Stockton, CA, passed away Saturday, January 
8, 2005 in Stockton. 
He was born on Tuesday, July 1, 1924 in Longmont, CO. He was an Electrical 
Engineer with the U.S. Navy for 22 years and an instructor at the Annapolis, MA 
Naval Academy. Mr. Thorndyke retired from the US Navy as a Lieutenant Commander 
and spent most of his retirement in Las Cruces, N.M.
He is survived by his children, daughters Marion T. Kilduff of Stockton and 
Jayne Handley of American Canyon, CA and son John R. Thorndyke, Jr. of 
Murfreesboro, AR. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grand- 
children. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Phyllis Hudson 
Thorndyke.
Memorial services will be held at Park View Funeral Home, Saturday, January 15, 
2005 at 3:00 p.m., 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca, CA. Interment will be at 
Park View Cemetery.
