Afton Thomas 
March 9, 1923 - December 3, 2004



Afton Thomas, 81, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 3, 2004. She was 
born on March 9, 1923 in Sandy, Utah. Among the places she and her husband 
Frank lived were Tucson, Colorado Springs and San Diego. A nationally 
accredited Flower Show Judge Emeritus, she also taught flower arranging classes 
and gave table setting demonstrations. She was active in P.E.O., Garden Club, 
the Haggin Museum Docent Program, and her church. Her faith showed strongly 
throughout her life including her brave struggle with cancer. She is survived 
by a daughter, Pam Goins, of Stockton; a son, Chris Thomas, of San Diego; 
grandson, Gordon Goins, of Seattle, grandson, Grant Goins, of Lodi, and great 
grandchildren, Ross, Paul, and Audrey. 
A Memorial Service will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Lodi, CA on January 
15, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 801 S. 
Lower Sacramento Rd., Lodi, CA 95242, the Salvation Army, or San Diego Hospice, 
4311 Third Ave., San Diego, CA 92103
