Calvin William Ervin

August 19, 1921 - January 12, 2005



Calvin William Ervin, 83, of Lodi, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 
in his home. Born on August 19, 1921 in Hartshorne, OK, he was a retail clerk 
in the grocery business for 45 years. He also was an owner and breeder of 
Thoroughbred horses. Calvin enjoyed reading western novels, watching football 
and baseball games and listening to music. He was a member of Fruitville Lodge 
#113 F & AM in San Leandro, American Legion Post #22 of Lodi, UFCW Union 
Local #588 and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Hazel I. Ervin of Lodi. 
Father of Steve Ervin of AZ and Michael Ervin of S. Lake Tahoe, CA. Stepfather 
of Bill Stanfield of Galt and Donna Kerr of Castro Valley. Grandfather of 8 and 
great-grandfather of 9. Brother of Daisy Taylor of San Leandro. 
Funeral Services: Monday, January 17, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. in the Evergreen 
Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation hours: Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 
p.m. in Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way at Beckman Rd., 
Lodi. Committal at Cherokee Memorial Park. 
Memorial contributions to either the American Lung Association, 1231 W. 
Robinhood Dr., Stockton, CA 95207 or Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., 
Stockton, CA 95204 are preferred.
