He was born Jan. 26, 1950, in Stockton. Mr. Maple served in the Vietnam War from 1970-71 as a helicopter crew chief with the 1st Air Cavalry 147th Aviation Company USARV. He worked as a roofing contractor with Maple Roofing for 25 years. He was an honorary member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Schmidli; and brother, Patrick Maple. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert W. Maple. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rocha's Mortuary, 215 S. School Street, Lodi, with the Rev. George Goerzen of Century Assembly officiating. Committal will follow at Lodi Memorial Park and Cemetery, 5750 E. Pine Street. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Order of the Silver Rose, VFW or American Legion. Rocha's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
