Black, 60, of Galt, died Jan. 15 in his home following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 25, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Ind., where he was raised. Mr. Black resided in Fort Wayne until 1969 when he moved to Ventura and resided there for 14 years. He was a resident of the Galt area for 20 years. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1960-68, and then was self employed in electronic sales. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoys attending church, home teaching, and servicing independent video stores. Jon Black He is survived by his wife, Diana Black, of Galt; daughter, Dawn Clark, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; son, Joshua Black, of Boise, Idaho; brother, Ted Black, of New York; sister, Pam Martin, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and two grandchildren. A church service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Galt Ward, 972 Vintage Oak Ave. Committal will follow at Galt Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Ben Salas Funeral Home. Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
