Lydia Perez Castro 
Sept. 12, 1920 - January 15, 2005



Lydia Perez Castro, 84, was born September 12, 1920 to the union of Severiano 
and Angelita Perez in Sacramento, CA. She was a life-long resident of 
California, was raised in Jackson/Sutter Creek and moved to Stockton in 1942. 
She worked in the Stockton Shipyard during the war where she met and married 
Amado F. Castro in 1944. They were married until the death of her husband in 
1982. She worked for California Cedar Products in Stockton for 34 years. She 
lived in Stockton most of her adult life and passed away in Fairfield, 
Saturday, January 15, 2005.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Roy Perez and 
sister, Anna Kirby. She leaves behind her children, Gloria Powell, Rose Marie 
Borquez any Roy Castro; brothers and sisters, Beatrice Gemigniani, Henry Perez, 
Hector Perez, Alice Todorovich and Esther Torres; grandchildren, Sherry 
Schmidt, Michelle Keady, Keith and Amy Castro, Roy Reyes and 10 great-grand-
children.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Vigil Service at 5:30 p.m. on 
Thursday, January 20, 2005 at DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., 
Stockton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 21 at 
10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 203 E. Washington Street, Stockton, CA. 
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from noon 7:00 p.m., Thursday from 9:00 
a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at DeYoung Memorial Chapel. 
Committal at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
