Greaves Aug. 13, 1915 - January 17, 2005 George Leland Greaves, 89, of Stockton, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2005 in a care facility. Born on August 13, 1915 in Stockton, CA, he was Chief Petty Officer for 23 years in the U.S. Navy and served in World War II. He then returned to Stockton and served as the Navy recruiter. He then became a correctional officer at Duel Vocational Institution for 20 years. He was a member and deacon with Faith Baptist Church. George was preceded in death by his wife, June E. Greaves and sons, Dennis Greaves and Timothy Greaves. He is survived by his children, Noreen Ding, Cheryl Gonzales, Wendy Bear, all of Stockton and Michael Greaves of Barstow. Grandfather of 21 and great- grandfather of 20. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday, January 21, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi. Visitation hours on Thursday, 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way at Beckman Rd., Lodi. Max Carroll in charge of arrangements.
