Darleen Marie Smith 
May 20, 1940 - January 13, 2005



Darleen Marie Smith 64, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, 
January 13, 2005. She was born May 20, 1940 in French Camp, CA and raised in 
Stockton, CA. She made her home in Placerville for the last 27 years.
John and Thelma Regalia preceded their oldest daughter in death. Darleen was 
the beloved wife of Richard Smith for 42 years and was the loving mother of her 
sons: Ricky Smith and his wife, Marilie of Wellington, Nevada; Tommy Smith of 
Placerville and Bobby Smith and his wife, Gina of Pollock Pines. Darleen was 
the devoted grandmother of Cassie, Stevie and Nicole; Jordan , Katelynn and 
Brandon and Danielle, Joey and Christian.
Darleen was the loving sister of John Regalia, Bobby Regalia and Zelda Gauuan 
and her husband, James. Darleen was the favorite Auntie to many nieces and 
nephews, a loyal cousin and was the niece of Eddie and Shirley Regalia. All of 
Darleen's cherished friends are saddened by her passing.
Darleen's passion and love for her family was always in evidence. Never did she 
pass on the opportunity to love and care for those in need. A woman of many 
talents, skills and passions. She was quite the handy woman. Darleen threw 
herself into hobbies such as doll making, gardening and cooking with the zeal 
of an artist. Darleen's computer was her portal into the world of international 
online forums and chat communities. She never lost her curiosity and love of 
new and exciting people, ideas and activities. Darleen will be sorely missed by 
all who knew and loved her.
Darleen's life will be celebrated by family and friends on Sunday, January 23, 
2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Placerville Moosse Lodge on 4310 8 Mile Road, Camino,
