Mayfield May 6, 1947 - January 13, 2005 Larry E. Mayfield, 57, of Menlo Park and formerly of Stockton, CA, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2005 in a Stanford hospital. Born on May 6, 1947 in Stockton, he was a horse trainer of show jumpers. Larry was a member and past president of the Pacific Coast Horse Show Assoc., United States Equestrian Federation, California Professional Horsemen's Assoc., was their Horseman of the year in 1990 and was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his children, Laura Gerst of Los Altos, Rick Mayfield of Woodside and McKenna Mayfield of Irvine. Grandfather of 2. Brother of H. G. Mayfield of Lexington, KY and Genelle Retamoza of Rocklin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lena Mayfield and brothers, Marvin G. Mayfield and Wayman A. Mayfield. Graveside services, Friday, January 21, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy. 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi. Memorial services to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, 3535 N. El Dorado St., Stockton. Visitation hours, Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way at Beckman Road, Lodi.
