Camella grew up in Cleburne, Texas, with her younger sister, Mae Ella (Washington) Yarber. She met and married the late Floyd Ford Sr. in 1948. Camella was the proud mother of ten children. In 1953, Camella and her family relocated to Oakland, California, where she lived for 41 years. In 1982, Camella became one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She served faithfully for 22 years. In 1944, she relocated to Stockton, California, and remained there until her death. Camella stressed the importance of education to her children and grandchildren. She made it a point to attend every graduation, no matter the distance. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and shopping. Survivors include her children, James Brown, Franklin Brown, Nelda Ford-Gennis, Ella McClennon, Edward Ford, Gwendolyn Johnson, Camella (Kim) Reece and Walter Ford; 25 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 4 nieces and a host of family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, husband and two sons, Floyd Jr. and Glen Ford. Viewing from 1 to 5 p.m. and Quiet hour from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2005.
