George is survived by Barbara Cogorno, of Yucaipa, his wife of the last 19 years, as well as, his daughter, Lois Cogorno of Stockton; son, Gene Cogorno; daughter-in-law, Marianne Cogorno, and his three grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, and Renee Cogorno all of San Jose. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Luella Cogorno. George was born on July 16, 1909 in Stockton. After graduating from Stockton High School, he was employed as an accountant with Fiberboard Products for 18 years. He later joined his cousin, Dominic Antonini, in a local grocery business. He was a partner in Antonini's Market until his retirement in 1972. As a young man, George was a member of the YMI Drum Corps and he lead a Boy Scout troop. In later years, he continued to be active and alert with his many interests and hobbies. He particularly enjoyed hunting, traveling, reading, woodworking, gardening, photography, oil painting and playing with his dogs. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at St. Luke's Catholic Church on Saturday, January 29, 2005, at 9:30 a.m., 3847 N. Sutter Street, Stockton, CA. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the charity of choice.
