She was the oldest of 5 children born to the union of McHenry Williams and Rachael McMurray Williams. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1947, and began working as a cook for Interstate United-Canteen Corporation. In 1957 she married Forrest Richard Chism to this union 4 children were born, Vanetra Ann, Anita Louise, Mack Henry, and Sylvia Arlene. In 1964 she married Joseph Myles who preceded her in death in 1978. After 41 years of service with Interstate United she retired and relocated to California in 1988. Mother Myles or Granny as she is lovingly called by everyone who knew her had a big heart with enough love for everyone. We will surely, miss her warm smile and friendly demeanor. Her life journey will be gratefully celebrated by her survivors, her children Vanetra Bradshaw, Elk Grove, CA; Anita Harris, Fresno, CA; Mack Myles, Stockton, CA; Sylvia Myles, Oakland, CA; 2 brothers: James Williams of Union City, CA; John Williams, Oakland, CA; 1 sister, Helen Bryant, Stockton, CA; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services to be held February 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Progressive M.B.C., 209 S. "C" St., Stockton, CA 95201. Visitation to be held January 31, 2005 at Jessie E.
