Hazel Feary Vix 
March 13, 1917 - January 29, 2005



Hazel Vix passed away on January 29, 2005. She was born March 13, 1917 in 
Anderson, California and moved to Stockton when she was a child. Hazel was the 
beloved wife of Halmer Vix for 67 years, loving mother and mother-in-law of 
Jerene Newman and Dr. Donald Newman of San Diego; cherished grandmother of 
Jennifer Leck of Davis, CA, Jill Chalmers of Colorado Springs, CO, and Craig 
Newman of Colville, WA. Hazel is also survived by her loving great-
grandchildren; Annie and Austin Leck, Kai and Lia Chalmers, and Devon Newman; 
her dear friend and sister-in-law Edythe Feary, her niece, Coraleta Rogers and 
numerous great nieces and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her cherished 
parents, Ira and Cora Curliss and her brother, Fred Feary.
Hazel was the complete fulfillment of her husband, Hal's life. She was his best 
friend and partner and together, they lived life to the fullest. Hazel's love 
of her family and friends, her abounding love of life and her great kindness 
will be missed by all.
Friends and family are invited to attend Memorial Services on Wednesday, 
February 2, 2005 at 12 Noon, Cherokee Memorial Park, Harney Lane & Hwy 99, 
Lodi, CA. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Cherokee Memorial 
Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 
Memorial Donations may be made to St. Mary's High School Memorial Fund, PO Box 
7247, Stockton, CA 95267-0247, or Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., 
Stockton, CA 95204.
