Helen Maria Martinez
Sept. 17, 1956 — March 7, 2004

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday for Tracy resident Helen 
Maria Martinez, 47, who died Wednesday at her home.
A native of Fresno, Mrs. Martinez lived in San Jose five years before moving to 
Tracy six months ago. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Martinez enjoyed crafts, helping others and especially spending time with 
family.
Mrs. Martinez is survived by two daughters, Francisca Parra, and her husband, 
Martin, of Tracy, and Zamantha Gutierrez, and her husband, Lupe, of Stockton; 
her parents, Helen Flores of San Jose and Richard J. Martinez of Arkansas; four 
siblings, Rita Bruce of Georgia, Joseph and Ramona Martinez, both of Oakland, 
and Stella Byles of Oregon; and seven grandchildren.
Tuesday’s Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. 
Eaton Ave. Visitation will be observed from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Fry Memorial 
Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Interment will be in Tracy Cemetery.
