Dale Walton Tillman 
October 11, 1918 - February 2, 2005



Dale Walton Tillman, 86, passed away February 2, 2005 at the Modesto Medical 
Center in Modesto. Born October 11, 1918 in Fordland, Missouri. He was a 
resident of Manteca 55 years and previously of Stockton, CA. He served during 
World War II in the United States Army. Dale was a member of Church of Christ 
on Lincoln in Manteca. He was also a member of the American Legion and also of 
Teamsters Retirees Local 439. Dale loved gardening. He was an avid fisherman 
and hunter. He also enjoyed bike riding. Family and friends will always 
remember Dale spending lots of his time in his garden. His garden was always 
shared with his family and friends no matter who you were. Dale's family and 
friends were priority to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. He will be 
remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and generous friend to all 
who knew him and who will be deeply missed. 
He is survived by wife of 57 years, Virginia Tillman of Manteca, CA; children, 
Donna and Terry Brumley of Roseburg, OR, Lorna and Frank Thomson of Manteca, 
CA, Susan and Joseph Silva of Manteca, CA and the late David Walton Tillman; 
grandchildren, Clint Thomson of Manteca, CA, Seth Brumley of Portland, OR, 
Sarah Vanarsdell of Manteca, CA, Melinda Anello of Portland, OR, Ashley Cutter 
of Stockton, CA, and Bret Silva of Manteca, CA; great-grand-children, Madeline 
Anello of Portland,OR, Ryan Vanarsdell of Manteca, CA, and Alyssa Cutter 
of Stockton, CA; siblings, Phyllis Zerweck of Stockton, Lois Evans of Stockton 
and the late Lester Tillman. 
Visitation: Sunday, February 6, 2005, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry & 
Son Funeral Home, Manteca, CA. Chapel Service: Monday, February 7, 2005, at 
11:00 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. Burial: Park View Cemetery, Manteca, 
CA.
