Lynda Joy DeShields 
May 17, 1943 - February 3, 2005



Lynda Joy DeShields went to meet her Lord on the 3rd of February 2005. Born on 
the 17th of May, 1943 in Wellington, Kansas, she moved and lived the remainder 
of her life in Stockton, CA, with her husband Harley DeWayne DeShields of 47 
years. For over 30 years, Lynda was a dedicated special education assistant for 
the Stockton Unified School District, and for the last 10 years she worked with 
the visually impaired students at Stagg High School. 
As a follower of Christ, Lynda was a member of West Lane Foursquare Church for 
over 20 years, and more recently attended Bethany Community Church on Michigan. 
Lynda and DeWayne enjoyed taking weekend trips to the Monterey coast, and 
volunteering their time to those in need. Her number one love was for her 
family and she devoted much of her time sharing in their lives. Lynda DeShields 
was a living testament of faith and her witness of love will be lived on by her 
husband, DeWayne DeShields; mother, Clara Belle Huff; sister, Rebecca Filkey 
and her spouse Pastor Chuck Filkey, and brother David Huff, along with 6 nieces 
and nephews. She is also survived by her three children and their spouses, 
Sandra and Val Franklin, Sheila and Dave DeMattei and Stan and Veronica 
DeShields, along with her 16 loving grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 
her father Robert Emerson Huff and sister Mary Langford.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service to be held at 4:00 
p.m. on Thursday, February 10, at Bethany Community Church, located at 3034 
Michigan Ave. in Stockton, CA 95204. No visitation.
