Born April 9, 1924 in Fowler, CA. He lived in Stockton 31 years. Bud was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps. after 31 years of military service, as a Mastery Gunnery Sgt. He became a Harbor Master and was a member of the Stockton Sailing Club. He was also a graphic artist and cartoonist; a member of San Joaquin County Historical Society & Museum and an avid football fan. Bud was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His whole family was central to his life. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Clites of Stockton; three daughters; Cathy Thornburg of Tacoma, WA, Kelly Clites of Modesto, Kim Sanders of Lodi; his son, Bill Clites of Germany; his sister, Rosemary Unruh of Stockton; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years, Rita Clites. A Memorial service and full military honors will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Wallace-Martin Funeral Home, 520 N. Sutter St., Stockton. No visitation.
