Clifford L. Smith 
June 21, 1936 - February 11, 2005



Clifford L. Smith was born June 21, 1936 in Stockton, CA and passed away 
Friday, February 11, 2005 in Folsom, CA at the age of 68. He graduated from San 
Jose State University in 1957 and was a member of the Air Force Reserves. He 
retired after 37 years of law enforcement. He served for 17 years in the 
Milpitas Police Department and then served as Chief of Police in Folsom from 
1974-1984. From 1984 to 1994, he served as the first Chief of Emergency 
Operations for the State of California, Department of Corrections, where he 
developed and implemented an emergency operations management program for the 
entire state prison system. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his 
family, cultivating tropical plants and being an amazing father and loving 
husband. He will be truly missed by his family and all friends that he touched 
in his life. He was a treasured husband, father, friend and mentor to so many, 
and a constant support for all those around him.
Beloved husband of 36 years to Jevenee Smith. Greatly missed by children, 
Tamara, Heather and Bradley Smith. Preceded in death by mother and father, 
Alice and Samuel Smith and by brothers, Alvin and James Smith.
Services will be Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal 
Church, 803 Figueroa Street, Folsom, CA 95630. Arrangements have been entrusted 
to Miller Funeral Home (916 985-2295).
Remembrances in Cliff's name can be made to Trinity Episcopal Church with a 
memo to Twin Lakes Food Bank.
