Star Worth Powell, better known by her friends and fans as Jeri Worth, passed 
away on Valentines Day, Monday, February 14, 2005. She was 70. She was born in 
Plano, Texas and spent most of her adult life in Stockton. 
She was the loving sister of Bob Gallop of Rocklin, California. She was the 
loving mother of Lisa Hallow, George Ray Silveira and Karon Fontana. The loving 
grandmother of Victoria Velasquez, Sarah Silveira and Dustin Fontana. Born to 
perform, Jeri Worth spent most of her professional theatrical career at the 
Pollardville Palace Showboat Melodrama Vaudeville Theatre in Stockton. She 
patterned her act after her idols, Mae West and Sophie Tucker and became known 
as the "Red Hot Mamma of the San Joaquin Valley". She was a dynamic and 
vivacious performer, as well as a comedian and dramatic actress and could belt 
out a song along with the best of them. The Lord has booked her indefinitely at 
the Heavenly Palace Theatre where she will continue to perform her signature 
song, "You gotta see mamma every night or you can't see mamma at all"!
It was Jeri's wish that her Family, Friends and Fans remember her as in life, 
therefore no services were held.
Donations may be made in her name to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific 
Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204 or a charity of choice. Park View Funeral Home in 
charge of the arrangements.
