Cannon Feb. 14, 1917 - Feb. 3, 2005 Johnnie passed away February 3, 2005 in San Jose, CA. He was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1917 in Duenweg, Missouri to Otho and Flora Cannon. Johnnie was one of 6 siblings, preceded in death by Joe, Bob and Virginia. Johnnie came to California on a freight train at the age of 17. He settled in Stockton where he met "His Girl", Rose DeLuca, who was to become his wife in l940. They were married for 64 years. Johnnie joined the Army Air Corps and spent 3 years during WWII in Europe. Johnnie and Rose owned "The Office" cocktail lounge on Pacific Avenue for 20 years with Rose's sister and brother- in-law. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose, February 9, 2004. Johnnie is survived by his daughter, Bonnie, son-in-law, Bob and grandchildren, Brian, John and Ashley Rose Phelps, all of San Jose, CA. He leaves behind his two devoted sisters, Ella Mae Bennett of Sacramento and Jean Pfaff of Seattle, Washington. Johnnie also leaves his brother- in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Jo Morrison of Stockton, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was a proud member of Karl Ross Post in Stockton. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at the DeYoung Memorial Chapel, 601 N. California St., Stockton, CA., Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be at DeYoung, Monday, February 21st, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Committal will be in San Joaquin Catholic Mausoleum.
