She was born Josephine Ruth Wall on April 13, 1915, in Avery, Texas. Mrs. McCoy was a resident of Galt for 20 years. She previously lived in Bakersfield, Santa Cruz, Orangevale, Thousand Oaks, Costa Mesa, Blythe and Holdenville, Okla. She worked as a master florist, tailor and in costume construction at Warner Brothers Studios. She was a member of the Delta African Violet Society, Square Dance Group, and Valley Oaks Grange Druids. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a teacher and judge for the African Violet and American Gloxinia and Gesneraid Society. She enjoyed doll making, sewing and floral designing. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Jo Trimble, of Monrovia and Leah Biagioni, of Sacramento; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ben Salas Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private. Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
