Margaret Esther Deacon
July 10, 1938 — March 23, 2004

Nanny and retired hospital employee Margaret Esther Deacon, 65, died March 23 
in Tracy. 
Born in Oakland, Mrs. Deacon lived in Livermore and Fremont before moving to 
Tracy two years ago. She was retired from Washington Hospital in Fremont, where 
she worked as a dietary assistant. After retirement, she worked as a nanny, 
which family said she enjoyed very much.
Mrs. Deacon enjoyed life, traveling and vacationing. She will be remembered for 
her beautiful heart, giving spirit, spunk and vitality for life, and she will 
be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and friends.
Mrs. Deacon is survived by a son, Russell Deacon, and his fiancée, Jennifer 
Ratto, of Livermore; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gladys and Larry Acacya of 
Manteca and Beverly and Kelly Callaway of Fremont; four siblings, Michael 
Ayers, Virginia James, and John and Ward Hostetter; nine grandchildren, Amber, 
Amy, Erica, Jared and Kristen Acacya, all of Manteca, Sarah, Russell Jr. and 
Cole Deacon, all of Livermore, and Alicia Callaway of Fremont; and one great-
grandchild, Sintriana Callaway of Livermore.
P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, in Manteca, is handling 
arrangements. Pending services will be in Carmel.
