John W. Kellar

John W. Kellar, MD, 79 years of age passed away in Lodi, CA on Sunday, February 
20, 2005. He was a resident of Galt and former resident of Stockton, CA. He 
graduated from Pacific Union College in 1951 and from Loma Linda University in 
1957 with his medical degree. His internship was at San Bernardino County 
Hospital from 1957 to 1958. Dr. Kellar was in general practice from 1958 to 
1989 in Stockton. He was previously with the San Joaquin Foundation for Medical 
Care and PSRO. At the time of his death he was Medical Director of Health Care 
Evaluation, Inc. and a board member of Healthcare Foundation, Inc. Since June 
of 2001 he was the Medical Director for Arbor Convalescent Hospital in Lodi 
and, since 1993 was the Regional Medical Director of Good Samaritan 
Convalescent in Stockton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Kellar of Galt; his son, John and his 
wife Karen Kellar; daughter, Nancy and her husband Bob Wageman; Stepchildren: 
Kathy Cabanya, Susan and her husband Paul Bergna, Karen and her husband Mark 
Miller, Jeanne and her husband Gary Coffey, Gilbert and his wife Karen Downer; 
Grandchildren: Jeremy & Heidi, Wagemen, Jessie & Kelsey Kellar, Jenna & Kristie 
Bergna, Marilyn Carlos, Mark & Michael Miller, Gilbert & Bryan Downer; Great-
grandchil- dren: Danika & Ava Miller, Elaina Downer; Sister: Virginia Cooper 
and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend Memorial Services on Sunday, March 6, 2005 at 
1:00 p.m. at the Stockton Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Committal will 
be private at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. Arrangements by Cherokee Memorial 
Funeral Home.
Donations may be made in his name to Lodi Memorial Hospital Salvation Army
