She was preceded in death by her parents, Cora & Levi Wilkinson. Marty was born in Lebanon, Oregon on August 2, 1933. She graduated from local schools. Marty met her future husband, Carl Brooking while they both worked at the Stockton Bargain Spot. Marty and Carl were married on October 10, 1954 in a loving union that lasted for more than 50 years. Marty was a stay at home mom who was very active in her community. She was a member of the P.T.A. and the John R. Williams bowling league. Marty ran the neighborhood polling place for the election department for more than 40 years. Marty returned to work part time with her husband at Rosenthal's Department Store. In 1981 they purchased the store from their previous employer's estate and operated it together until it closed in 1991. After closing the store, Marty & Carl became active in Kiwanis, where she was a past president. Marty was active in the Weberstown Homeowners Association, where she ran the neighborhood pool. They also enjoyed many fun trips to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with family and friends. Martha is survived by her husband, Carl; her daughter, Mary Black; granddaughter, Lauren Crook and her husband James; her son, Russell, his wife Nell, their children Vincent and Quinn; her son, Michael Brooking and Kristie Lobb and their son, Steven Aguilar; and her sister and brother- in-law, Marie and Dick Hickman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, February 25, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N.
