Harris Aug. 3, 1912 - Feb. 19, 2005 Agnes S. Harris, a second-generation native Californian, passed away peacefully on February 19, in Oakland, California, at age 92. Mrs. Harris was born on August 3, 1912, in Oroville, California, the youngest of five children of Eugene and Rose Cormeny. She attended schools in Stockton, California, graduating from Stockton High School in 1930. While in high school, she received the honor of a scholarship to the Inter- lochen School of Music in Michigan (where she was introduced to John Phillip Sousa). In 1935, she married Frank L. Trantham, and was widowed in 1945. In 1947, she married Raymond L. Harris, who preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Harris resided in Stockton until the mid-1960's, where she was an energetic member of various service and social organizations, including Rainbow Girls (Assembly #9), Stockton High School Troubadours, Philomathean Club, Order of Eastern Star (Homo Chapter 50), Junior Aid of Stockton, and Stockton Golf and Country Club. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Central Methodist Church in Stockton, and the Montclair United Methodist Church in Oakland. While residing in the Montclair area of Oakland, she continued her enthusiasm for service and social organizations, e.g. the Montclai r Woman's Club, Order of Eastern Star (Nova Dies Chapter 140), and Welcome Wagon. Mrs. Harris was an avid golfer, and achieved every golfer's dream of a hole-in- one. She also enjoyed bowling, bridge, and gardening. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her second husband, Ray, owned and operated Harris Marina on Dutch Slough near Bethel Island. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her four siblings: Marcella Kanne (1898-1980), Eugene Cormeny (1900-1954), Rose Peterson (1902-1993), and Ruth Gibson (1904-1967). She is survived by her children: son, James F. Trantham and wife, Shirley, of Granbury, TX; daughter, Linda R. Trantham Ebright and husband, Joel, of Pleasanton, CA; stepson, R. Michael Harris and wife, Bobbie, of Ft. Pierce, FL; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial service on Saturday, February 26, at 3:00 p.m., at Montclair United Metho-dist Church, 2162 Mountain Boulevard, Oakland, California.
