Laura Billups 
Laura Lillian Billups, 92, of Lodi, died Feb. 18. She was born Laura Lillian 
Fairhurst on Nov. 4, 1912, in Tamarack, Idaho.

Mrs. Billups married Edgar Billups at the age of 16, and they lived on a ranch 
in Oregon before settling in Thornton in 1940. She was employed by the Thornton 
Cannery for many years, and worked her way up to floor lady.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Fritts; son, Sgt. Maj. Edgar Billups; 
three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Billups; and grandson, Tom 
Billups.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Galt Funeral Home. There will 
be no visitation and committal will be private.
