Seward Feb. 11, 1922 - Feb. 10, 2005 Sara Seward died suddenly Thursday, February 10th of heart failure. Our dearest wife and mother was born in Americus, Georgia where she resided until the age of six when her family moved to Stockton, California with her parents, Harold and Sara Ahearn and younger sister Marianne. Sara attended the University of the Pacific and the University of Wyoming studying Library Science. She has been happily married to Lt. Col. Wayne J. Seward for 63 wonderful years. Sara and Wayne settled in Santa Barbara in 1968 following Wayne's 28 year career in the Air Force. Sara's life was devoted to helping others through her devoted service to Alter Guild of All Saints By-The-Sea Episcopal Church, The Music Academy of the West, Westmont Arts Council, The Luria Library at Santa Barbara Community College, the Braille Institute of Santa Barbara, and the St. Cecelia Society. Sara is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne; her two children, Patrick and Kathleen; her grandchildren, Melissa Belles, Travis Belles and Patrick Henry Seward; and her sister, Marianne Manuel. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to the Santa Barbara Braille Institute or the St. Cecelia Society.
