Johnny Vargas 
Johnny Vargas, 46, of Galt, died Feb. 22 in Stockton of natural causes. He was 
born Jan. 23, 1959, in Sacramento.

Mr. Vargas lived in Galt for 46 years. He worked as a welder and fabricator. He 
enjoyed fishing, swimming, movies, making people laugh and spending time with 
his children.

He is survived by his daughter, Lydia Pfeifer; sons, Johnny Vargas Jr. and 
Anthony Vargas; brothers, Mark Vargas and Peter Vargas; sisters, Angie Vargas-
Lawson and Nancy Boongaling; parents, Tony and Jovita Vargas, of Galt; and two 
grandsons.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Christopher's 
Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ben 
Salas Funeral Home. A vigil will follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
