Born; Evgenia Samborsky January 15, 1912 in Omsk, Siberia, Russia to Antone and Dorothy Samborsky. Mrs. Robertson worked for UOP in Stockton for 18 years, before retiring in 1977, as an Administrative Assistant. She attended and graduated from Sacramento High School, Class of 1931, and also graduated from Heald Business College in Sacramento. A life-long Presbyterian, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Stockton since 1944, where she sang with the Temple Choir for over 35 years. Jane never met a stranger, and anyone who ever was a part of her life came away enriched by her loving, generous spirit. She will remain in our hearts forever. Jane was the beloved mother of Carolyn Armstrong and husband, Frank of Sacramento, the cherished grandmother (Baba) of Stephenie Jane Alstrom of Sacramento and beloved Aunt Jane to numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by step-daughter, Beverly Cardoza of Stockton and many relatives in the Robertson family whom she loved dearly, as they loved her. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 30 years, Philo Thorpe, in 1969, and her second husband of 18 years, Norman R. Robertson, in 1999. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Stockton. A private graveside service was held at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery in Lodi. Arrangements are by the Lodi Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church, 31 E. Vine St., Stockton, CA 95202 with a notation on the check to "Robertson Memorial-Music Fund."
