Mr. Gianelli was born on July 30, 1913 in Confidence, CA. He was the youngest of the seven children of Anna Rocca and Joseph Gianelli. Chet first attended school in a one-room school house in Tuolumne County. In 1928, the family moved to Stockton where Chet attended Stockton High School. He later went on to become a journeyman carpenter and home builder, building many custom homes in San Joaquin County during his 40 years as a licensed general contractor. Chet was also one of the founding owners of Chet's Restaurant with his two sisters, Anita Sittel and Babe Green. Mr. Gianelli was a lifetime member of the Native Sons of the Golden West, BPOE Elks #218 and also a member of St. Michael's Church in Morada. Mr. Gianelli was preceded in death by his six siblings: Joe Gianelli, Ernest Gianelli, Lester Gianelli, Edna Trezona, Anita Sittel and Babe Green. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Erma; son, Jerry Gianelli and wife, Rosemary of Stockton; grandsons, Brian Gianelli of Los Angeles and Gabe Gianelli of San Diego and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Mach 3, 2005 at St. Michael's Church, 5882 N. Ashley, Stockton, CA. No visitation will be held. Private committal to be held at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary Tribute Fund, 1800 N.
