Ruben M. Vasquez 
July 7, 1936 - February 27, 2005



Ruben Moses Vasquez passed away on Sunday, February 27 at Saint Joseph's 
Hospital surrounded by his wife of 41 years, Christina Vasquez, his nine 
children, many grandchildren and siblings. Ruben was the oldest of ten children 
born to David Vasquez and the late Carmen Vasquez of Stockton. Ruben was born 
in Leon Guanajuato Mexico.
He is survived by his sons, Jorge Vasquez and Ruben Vasquez; daughters; 
Christina Vasquez, Patricia Vasquez-Corona, Sandra Vasquez-Mabury, Catalina 
Vasquez, Lupe Vasquez, Carmen Vasquez and Monica Vasquez-Abaya along with 
fourteen grand children and a future Great Grandchild to be born in August. 
Ruben was preceded in death by his late brother Salvador Vasquez and nephew 
Peter Salsedo. He will be deeply missed by his siblings; Christina Vasquez, 
Carmen Salsedo, Lupe Galvan, Esther Vasquez, Helen Jaime, Jesse Vasquez and 
nephews and nieces Ruben worked as a farm labor contractor for many years and 
had a great following of laborers, as he was well known to be a very honest 
man. Ruben was also known for his generosity. Ruben leaves a long legacy of 
giving to those less fortunate. Ruben will be greatly missed by all that loved 
him and especially at the frequent family birthday parties and gatherings. 
Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 3:00-8:00 p.m. and a Rosary services will 
be at 6:00 p.m. at Cano Funeral Home, 2164 E. Charter Way, Stockton, CA. A 
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 4, at 9:30 a.m. at St Gertrude's 
Catholic Church, 166 E. Main Street, Stockton, CA, followed by a funeral 
service at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery on Cemetery Lane off of Harding Way, 
Stockton, CA.
