Dorothy was born in Bedford, IN in 1917 and graduated from Bedford High School. She moved to Stockton, CA in 1946 and remained there until 1999 when she came to Half Moon Bay to be near family. In Stockton she was active in the First Baptist Church. Other Stockton activities included golfing, square dancing, gardening and flying. She earned her pilot's license in 1947. She designed children's clothing, and was a seamstress, working right to the end doing alterations for friends. "Everyone loved my mother's energy and positive outlook. And she never forgot anyone's name," said her daughter, Adora Palmer. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Adora and Alan; grandsons, Kevin and Cameron Palmer; great-grandchildren, Kayla Palmer, Kennedy Palmer, Cassidy Palmer, Kimberly Palmer and Colton Palmer all of Half Moon Bay. Her granddaughter, Kendra Anderson and her children, Kyle and Kamryn are from Santa Cruz. She also leaves a nephew, Mike O'Brian, from El Cerrito. There will be a celebration of Dorothy's life held on March 6, 2005 from 2:00- 4:00 p.m. at Mariners Church, 225 S. Cabrillo Hwy. The public is invited.
