Irene M. Burkhardt 
March 7, 1919 - March 4, 2005



Irene M. Burkhardt, of Stockton, California, age 85 years, passed away on March 
4, 2005. She was born on March 7, 1919 in Long Lake, South Dakota, where she 
was reared. She moved to Stockton in 1940 where she has resided since. She was 
married in Stockton to Balzar Burkhardt and he passed away in 1974. She was a 
member of the former Immanuel Lutheran Church in Stockton. She enjoyed being a 
homemaker, also caring for her flower garden, fruit tree's, baking and cooking.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Burkhardt of Seattle, Washington; siblings, 
Esther Herman of Bismarck, North Dakota, Hazel Merkel of Great Falls, Montana 
and Gladys Bakke of Minot, North Dakota; also numerous nieces and nephews and 
great-nieces and newphews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by a 
sister and three brothers.
Visitation will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial 
Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way near Beckman Road in Lodi. Funeral service 
will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Evergreen Chapel at 
Cherokee Memorial Park, Highway 99 and Harney Lane in Lodi. Committal will 
follow. Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
