He was born March 22, 1922, in Stockton. Mr. Noma was a life-long resident of Lodi and graduated from Lodi High School in 1940. During World War II, he and his family were placed in an interment camp in Rowher, Ark. Following the war, he returned to Lodi, where he farmed grapes and strawberries. He was a member of the Lodi Buddhist Church, Japanese- American Citizens League and the Lucky Anglers. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing cards. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Yuriko Noma, of Lodi; sons, Jerry Noma, of Stockton, Glenn Noma, of Watsonville and Leland Noma, of Lodi; sisters, Mitsuye Yokomi, of Fresno and Mary Uyeno, of Lodi; and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lodi Buddhist Church, 23 N. Stockton St., Lodi, with the Rev. Kenshin Fujimoto officiating. Inurnment will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park. A family memorial registry may be signed from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, near Beckman Road, Lodi.
