William Robert DeWitt
April 19, 1945 — June 21, 2004 

Services will be today for longtime Tracy resident William Robert DeWitt, 59, 
who died Monday at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley.
Born in Berkeley, Mr. DeWitt moved to Tracy from Oakland 20 years ago. He 
worked 30 years as an engineer for Pacific Bell and SBC in Oakland, San 
Francisco and San Ramon. He liked bowling, swimming and fishing, and enjoyed 
spending time with his family.
Mr. DeWitt is survived by his wife of 26 years, Pam DeWitt; six children, 
William Keith DeWitt, and his wife, Rosemarie, and Gary Parris, all of Manteca, 
Jacqueline Berlinn, and her husband, Kris, of Livermore, Kenneth Paris of 
Dublin, Kevin DeWitt of Oakland, and Patrick DeWitt, and his wife, Tracey, of 
Hampton, Va.; grandchildren Christopher, Corey and Kelli Sylvester, and Claudia 
and Colton Berlinn, all of Livermore, Jason Kimmey of Alameda, and Matthew 
Garrett DeWitt of Hampton, Va.; three brothers, John DeWitt, and his wife, 
Sandra, of Tracy, James DeWitt, and his wife, Shirley, of Castro Valley, and 
Thomas DeWitt, and his wife, Chris, of St. Helena; and numerous nieces and 
nephews.
Today’s services will begin at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hotchkiss Mortuary, 5 W. 
Highland Ave., where visitation will be observed from noon to 2 p.m. Interment 
will be in Tracy Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Mr. DeWitt’s name may be made to the San Joaquin 
County chapter of the American Red Cross, 747 N. Pershing Ave., Stockton 95203, 
or to the Alzheimer’s Society, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento 95812.
