William “Bill” G. “Tiger” Robertson Sr. Dec. 7, 1929 — July 15, 2004 Funeral services will be Wednesday for longtime Tracy resident William “Bill” G. “Tiger” Robertson Sr., 74, who died Thursday at his home. Born in French Camp, Mr. Robertson served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked 32 years as a baker for San Joaquin General Hospital. A talented musician, he played with the Merced Blue Notes and several other local bands. He loved baseball and coached Oak Park Little League, Tracy Babe Ruth and Tracy American Legion during the 1980s. He also coached the girls and boys basketball teams at Delta Island School in the early 1980s. Mr. Robertson was a member of the Stockton Softball Hall of Fame and the National Softball Hall of Fame for umpiring three national tournaments. He was also a founding member of the Valley PT Cruisers Club. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carla Robertson of Tracy; four sons, Stacey Robertson of Tracy, Valet Terry and his wife, Frances, of Placerville, Maurice Robertson and his wife, Ivy, of El Dorado Hills, and William G. Robertson and his wife, Louisa, of Stockton; two daughters, Denise Kuklo and her husband, Robert, of Tracy, and Deanna Edwards and her husband, Forrest, of Wilsonville, Ore.; six sisters, Barbara Hudson of Sacramento, Ann Cannon and Jackie Robertson, both of Stockton, Ardis Wade of Atwater, Marietta Whitaker of Las Vegas and Carol Wallace of Winton; 13 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane McDonnell. Wednesday’s service will begin at 2 p.m. at Frisbie-Warren & Carroll Mortuary, 809 N. California St., in Stockton. Visitation will be observed from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions in Mr. Robertson’s name may be made to Hospice Preferred Choice, 1470 Enea Circle, #1745, Concord 94520 or the charity of one’s choice.
