He was born Dec. 18, 1916, in Delmont, S.D. Mr. Patzer moved to Modesto at the age of five with his family. He attended barber school, and then married Dorothy Nichols in 1936 in Lodi. He served in the U.S. Army in France and Germany during World War II. He owned and operated Al's Barbershop from 1935 to 1984. He enjoyed all types of sports, particularly golf. He enjoyed music from the 1940s and 1950s, especially Bing Crosby. He also enjoyed traveling. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Patzer, of Elk Grove; daughter, Gerrol "Jerri" Scott, of Elk Grove; and granddaughter, Carrie Jenkins, of London. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Clara Pugh and Martha Hillman; and brother, Reuben Patzer. Services will be private. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home.
