Ella Mikkelson


Ella Mikkelson, 95, of Lodi, died July 28 in a San Andreas hospital. She was 
born Oct. 13, 1908, in Leeuwarden, Holland.

Ms. Mikkelson came to the U.S. at the age of three with her parents. They 
settled in Iowa and then moved to Wakonda, S.D.

She moved to California with her husband in 1959, and they lived in Redwood 
City and Fremont before finally settling in Lodi in 1977. She was a member of 
St. Paul Lutheran Church, and was active at Arbor Retirement Center.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Mikkelson, of Naknek, Alaska, and Jack 
Mikkelson, of Railroad Flat; daughter, Gladys Johnston, of Ft. Collins, Colo.; 
eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, at 
Tokay and Lee streets in Lodi. Committal will be private at Cherokee Memorial 
Park in Lodi.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
