"Fran" Wilson, 89, of Lodi, died July 27 in his home. He was born Aug. 8, 1914, in Ceres. Mr. Wilson attended schools in the Ceres area and graduated from Modesto High School. He attended Modesto Junior College, and graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in pharmacy. He owned a pharmacy in Livingston until 1941, when he sold it to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a chief pharmacist mate. After his discharge, he moved to Lodi with his wife in 1947. He was a co-owner of Wilson's Pharmacy in downtown Lodi until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the United Congregational Church, Lodi Masonic Lodge No. 256 F & AM, Stockton Scottish Rite Bodies, Ben Ali Shrine of Sacramento, Lodi Hi-Twelve Club, and American Legion Lodi Post No. 22. He was also a member of the Lodi SIRS where he served as tour director. He was a former president of the Tokay Shrine Club and the Zoorama unit where he was the lion. He was also a former president of the Lodi Lions Club. He enjoyed traveling with his wife which included two trips to Africa. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia Wilson, of Lodi; son, Lawrence E. "Luke" Wilson, of Sacramento; sister, Betty Ann Wynne, of Hickman; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Wilson. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the United Congregational Christian Church with the Rev. Jack Dawson officiating. Entombment will be private in the Cherokee Memorial Park Mausoleum. There will be no visitation.
