Joshua Benjamin Harris

Jan. 6, 1978 — Feb. 2, 2006

A memorial service will be Monday for chef Joshua Benjamin Harris, 28, who 
died Thursday in Manteca.

Born in Huntington Beach, Harris lived in Tracy 16 years and attended Tracy 
High School. He was a chef at Bartoni’s, in Tracy, and had worked his way up 
from working at Denny’s, Garlic Café, Benihana’s and Wente Vineyards. He was 
known as the “Caucasian Sensation” at Benihana’s. Soroptimist and Tracy Rotary 
clubs awarded him a scholarship for academic achievement and attitude. He 
enjoyed watching cooking shows and sporting events. He also liked camping, 
water skiing, football, baseball, golf and most other sports. His true love 
was his family and friends. He will be remembered always.

Mr. Harris is survived by his mother, Deborah Hall of Tracy; father, Thomas 
Harris of Tracy; stepfather, Michael Hall of Tracy; siblings, James Daniels, 
Melody Hall, both of Tracy, Adrianne Zellers of Georgia, Eric Harris and 
Marcella Harris, both of San Diego; numerous aunts, uncles, grandparents and 
cousins.

Monday’s memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. 
Central Ave. Richard Bartoni is opening his restaurant, Bartoni’s, 450 E. 10th 
St., immediately following the service.
