Born in Kulm, N.D., she attended school there before moving to Lodi with her parents in 1906. She worked on the Gillis Ranch near Clements, then married Otto Helmle Feb 12, 1921 in Lodi. The couple lived in Pomona for 2 years after their marriage, and then returned to Lodi. Mrs. Helmle was a charter member of the First Assembly Church in Lodi, which is now called the Century Assembly Church. Four brothers and four sisters preceded Mrs. Helmle in death. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Otto Helmle, of Lodi; two sons: Melvin Helmle, of Lodi, and Orville Helmle, of Santa Cruz; two sisters: Mrs. Margaret Youngman and Mrs. Freda Suess, both of Lodi, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Century Assembly Church with the Rev. Harold Duncan officiating. Interment will be in Cherokee Memorial Park.
