Irene Hood

Sept. 11, 1925 — Dec. 22, 2005

Services will be Saturday for Tracy High School graduate Irene Hood, 80, who 
died Dec. 22, 2005 at her home in Valley Springs.

Mrs. Hood was born in Weed and graduated from Tracy High. She worked for Itel 
McCullah and Pacific Airlines, which later became Northwest Airlines. She 
retired in 1990 after working 25 years for Northwest.

Mrs. Hood volunteered with various senior citizens’ groups while she lived in 
Minnesota, Nevada and California. Her passion was cooking. She also enjoyed 
sewing, knitting and crocheting, and her family treasures her handmade 
sweaters and blankets.

Mrs. Hood is survived by her husband of 32 years, Kirt Hood; children, Gary 
Silveria of Modesto, Lex Hobson of Portola Valley and Kim Hobson of San Mateo; 
brothers, George, Ted and Leslie Freitas, all of Tracy; and grandchildren, 
Darin Silveria, Michelle Petrucelli and Justin Hobson.

Saturday’s memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Catholic 
Church, 1 Notre Dame Ave., in San Mateo, followed by a reception.

Contributions in Mrs. Hood’s name may be sent to the American Heart 
Association, 1710 Gilbreth Road, Burlingame 94010.
