Frieda Hoppe
Frieda Hoppe, 80, of Galt, died Nov. 5 in a Stockton hospital of natural 
causes. She was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Romania.

Mrs. Hoppe lived in Germany from 1940 to 1952, and then settled in Galt. She 
was employed as a nurse's aid at convalescent homes in Galt for 15 years. She 
was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church and Galt Grange. 

She is survived by her daughter, Lotte Martin, of Galt; sisters, Klara Herzog, 
of Galt and Lille Schmalz, of Germany; brother, Arthur Vetter, of Germany; two 
granddaughters, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hoppe in 1992; and brother, 
Gus Vetter in 2001.

A graveside prayer will be said on Nov. 18 at the Galt Cemetery. There will be 
no visitation.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
