Helen Anita (Brown) Harney 
March 10, 1915 - March 20, 2005



Helen Anita (Brown) Harney, 90, of Stockton died Sunday, March 20, 2005 in 
Stockton. She was born March 10, 1915 at Great Falls, Montana and has resided 
in Stockton for over seventy years. Mrs. Harney was employed by Branstet and 
Dougherty as a secretary in the 1940's and for the American Heart Association 
from 1970 to 1980.
She was a member of, Alpha Nu Sorority for Women, Daughters of the American 
Revolution, First Congregation Church for 72 years and Epsilon Sigma Alpha.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Gene" Harney who died in 
February 2004 after 57 years of marriage; also by two sisters, Halajon Brown 
Stockwell and Katherine Brown Becker; parents, Charles and Annette Brown. She 
is survived by, 1 daughter, Tricia A. Harney of Stockton; 2 nephews and 1 
niece; 1 sister-in-law. Visitation will be Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 
Friday 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home, 123 N. 
School St., Lodi.Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the First 
Congregational Church, 6702 Englewood in Stockton. Committal will follow in the 
Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Alzheimers 
Aid Society.
