Edgar Hinanay 
Edgar E. Hinanay, Sr., 74, of Lodi, died July 6 in his home. He was born Aug. 
14, 1930, in the Philippines.

Mr. Hinanay married Talna Banez in 1963, and they moved to the U.S. settling in 
Long Beach in 1971. He and his wife moved to Carmarillo in 1978 and then to 
Lodi in 2005. He was employed as a financial accountant from 1956 until his 
retirement in 1995. He was a member of the Catholic faith and the USI Phil 
Organization. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and camping. 

He is survived by his wife, Talna Hinanay, of Lodi; daughters, Ellen Hinanay, 
of Carlsbad, Edna Hinanay, of Danvers, Mass., and Elayda Podesta, of Stockton; 
son, Edgar A. Hinanay Jr., of Agoura Hills; sister, Ester Encinas, of the 
Philippines; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee 
Memorial Park, Highway 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi, with Father James Booth 
officiating. Inurnment will be private. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 
7 p.m. Sunday in the chapel.

Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
