J.L. and Hazel Horstman, born April 2, 1930 in Sacramento, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2005 at San Joaquin Hospice House. At 17, attending Stockton Junior College. He and his brother went into business as Horstman's Floral Shoppe, later Horstman's Furniture and Appliances, then the La-Z-Boy Showcase Shop, in business together for 50 years. He sang 24 years in the Quail Lakes Baptist Celebration Singers Choir. He was a National Guardsman and in the 20-30 Club, Pacifica Lions and SIRS. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jenean, brother Leslie J. Horstman; niece Cynthia Ford; his daughters, Lisa Harris and Ashley Besoyan; granddaughter, Jennifer Harris Gan; grandsons, Matthew and Michael Besoyan and great-granddaughter, Kyli Gan. Present was sister-in-love, Doris Horstman; comforting them were childhood friend, Dan Battilana, his fiancee, Margaret Goodwin, Dan Casteline, Wayne and Margaret Castle, Margo and Warren Wise, Karen Wise Workman and John Wise. Visitors included Pastor Wayne and Cheryl Bibelheimer and friend Jim May. Memorial Service will be held at Quail Lakes Baptist Church, Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be sent to Quail Lakes Baptist Church, or Hospice House of San Joaquin.
