He was born on May 26, 1911 to Kustaa and Mina Huhtala in Finland and moved to the United States in 1928. He resided in Lodi, then moved to Santa Cruz prior to living in Grass Valley for eight years. Mr. Huhtala served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as an electrician for Santa Cruz Lumber for 20 years and also worked as a Tree Topper in Fort Bragg. Tauno enjoyed fishing and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his companion, Lorene O'Brine. He is survived by life long friends. Mildred Dillberg of Woodland and Annie Sheppard of Folsom. Friends are invited for Funeral service on Wednesday, March 16 in the Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home Chapel, 123 North School Street at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi.
